Itamar Rabinovich is an Israeli diplomat, who was the Ambassador of Israel to the United States from 1993 to 1996, former Chief Negotiator with Syria, President of the Israel Institute, Professor at Tel Aviv University and at New York University.
The guest was introduced to the audience by the Ambassador of Israel to Russia Harry Koren, who also announced an event to be held at MGIMO on April 23rd dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin’s visit to Moscow. Guests will be able to visit an exhibition on the Prime Minister, watch an autobiographical film and meet with Yitzhak Rabin’s son Yuval Rabin and Press Secretary Oded Ben-Ami.
Itamar Rabinovich focused in his talk on the current political, diplomatic and security challenges Israel faces in the Middle East, commenting on the different attempts of the international community to resolve the Iranian and Syrian issues, and on relations between the U. S. and Israel.
The course, which will run until the end of May, is sponsored by MGIMO’s School of Business and International Proficiency and the Embassy of Israel in Russia.
